The Southernvolksfolks owners club is the largest Volkswagen owners club in the Republic of Ireland. Formed in Waterford over 10 years ago a group of local enthusiasts, the club soon grew into a national club.

The club is now based in Dublin and with a membership of over 100 individuals, with a variety of vehicles ranging from Mexican Beetles to Pre 1955 Beetles. The vast majority of our members use their cars as Daily Drivers. Catering mainly for the Vintage-Air cooled VW’s, the club aims to bring together like-minded VW enthusiasts throughout the country.

The club meets up regularly for a chat and a quick spin around, and it is represented at all the big shows of the summer such as Terenure College, Celbridge, Limerick and Insioge and most of the smaller ones too like Blessington, Lusk and Castleknock. Members of the club regularly attend overseas shows, such as the Volksworld, VW Action, Bug Jam, Run to the Sun and even some of the large California shows.

The club produce a bi-monthly newsletter called HotAir is distributed to the membership with notices of upcoming shows, features on members cars, reports and pictures from previous shows, technical articles and any relevant news in the VW world. There is also a website, www.southernvolksfolks.com where an online fourm can be used to keep incontact with members and to inform visitors to the site of club events and news..
